Influence of housing system on the physical, morphological, and mechanical properties of Japanese quail eggs

The objective of this study was to determine the influence housing system on physical, morphological, and mechanical properties Japanese quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica) eggs. A total 240 eggs were collected from quails kept in two different systems: cage aviary (120 each system). Eggs significantly (P<0.05) heavier than (11.85 g vs. 10.93 g), also longer, wider had larger geometric mean diameter, surface area volume. No statistically significant difference albumen yolk content observed between system. higher shell strength required greater force eggshell breaking. average breaking all three axes 14.36 N 12.70 N, respectively.
